Whether
you’re a lucky recipient of a Perth first home buyers’ grant, or
are just checking the place out first while staying with relatives,
there are loads of activities to enjoy in Perth, and many won’t
cost anything!
Go
snorkelling in Shoalwater Marine Park
Jump
into the warm waters with WA’s largest colony of fairy penguins,
sea lions, dolphins, and more. The major underwater attraction is
the marine wreck and seagrass meadows where hundreds of marine
species are waiting to welcome you.
Picnic
in Kings Park and Botanic Garden
Kings
Park is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world that easily
dwarfs New York City’s Central Park. That’s at least 400
hectares of lush greenery and landscaped gardens. You’ll be
swamped by some 1,700 unique native spring wildflower species.
Tap
into your inner culture vulture
If
indulging in the arts is more your thing, make your way to WA’s
Cultural Centre, where you’ll find the Museum, Art Gallery, and
Library of Western Australia as well as the Perth Institute of
Contemporary Arts. Entrance to all venues is free of charge.
Check
out what’s popping up in Perth
Perth
is a virtual labyrinth of urban art, street food, and pop-up stalls,
so you’re sure to come across something fascinating. Forrest Place
is host to many free festivals and musical performances while the
Northbridge Piazza is a venue for public exhibits, films, and
performances.
There’s
still more to Perth than we can list here so take your sweet time to
get acquainted with the place and your new home.
